His name is Hon. Ngozi Lawrence Okolie; he won the Aniocha/Oshimili House of Reps seat under the Labour Party, riding on the Peter Obi wave in 2023. He was then promised an automatic ticket by those who wooed him, and he cross-carpeted to the All Progressives Congress, APC, to stand on their mandate.
Yesterday, he got to the venue of the primary election
at the stipulated time, which was 11am, and as he got there, was told that the
primary election had been concluded.
He was reportedly defeated by a former minority leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu whom he had defeated during the
election in 2023.
Recall that in 2023, the Court of Appeal removed Ndudi
Elumelu from the House of Representatives and declared Hon. Ngozi Okolie, who
contested under the Labour Party at the time, as the duly elected winner of the
House of Representatives seat for the constituency.
