One of the most loved Nigerian businessman behind the Globe Motors fame, reputed to be the largest dealer of Mercedes Benz in Nigeria and also a leading dealer in Toyota brand of cars and some other brands, in fact one of the top 5 biggest in the sector of the economy he operates in, which is the automobile industry has passed on!

The quite sad and clearly very unfortunate incident occurred today, Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 5:30am. The cause of death is not known yet.

The gentleman husband of the quite flamboyant fashionista extraordinaire, who is also tagged by many as the ‘ultimate drama queen of fashion’ in Nigeria- Nkiru Anumudu, was better referred to by most as Uncle Willy, because of how accommodating and down to earth he is to all.

Unlike his wife and family that he loves to bit, he prefers to always remain in the background, incognito, doing his thing rather quietly.

He is from Imo state, in fact from Mbaitoli LGA of the state. He was born November 29, 1951, meaning that he would have turned 69 year old in November of 2020 had death permitted. He went to Catholic University, Reading, in the UK for his degree.

He founded his well known brand, Globe Motors in March of 1984 and the brand as since grown in leaps and bounds. Apart from the automobile industry where he is a known colossus, he is also said to have very good investments in other sectors of the economy here and there also.

Apart from the fact that his wife is probably the most outstanding fashionista of her time in the history of Nigeria, an undoubted & unparalleled trailblazer, who is on first name basis with some of the most iconic international fashion brands, one of which is Dolce & Gabbana.

His gorgeous only daughter by name Ozinna, is also a well respected voice in the fashion and lifestyle industry in Nigeria too, just like her mom.

Ozinna or preferably Zina like she’s called by most, is the founder of The Style Concierge, a well known lifestyle brand. She’s also an influencer of note.

The gentleman businessman, who in 2018 (just 2 years ago) opened a $150million dollars car assembly plant & is said to be quite astute in his dealings, will be sorely missed by all and sundry.

We can bet that the family-Nkiru, Uzoma, Enyinna, Ozinna & Ozichukwu, plus the extended family members, friends, associates and more would be quite devasted right now.

We commiserate with them, most especially the wife- Nkiru who is a great woman, one especially that can be quite humble, even with her position in the society.

May the soul of the dearly departed find rest. And may the Almighty grant the immediate and extended family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
