In a post shared on her Instagram page, being one the avenues she enjoys using since after the loss of her beloved husband, the former Govenor, Rotimi Akeredolu, the former First Lady had these to say about her life at 72.
She wrote, "I turn 72 today, July 20. Two years into widowhood, 28 years a breast cancer survivor and I'm still standing. Still thriving. This year, I joined OWSD (FUTA Chapter) and presented two scientific papers on my innovation: solar-power recirculating aquaculture systems. A new academic path, at 72. Because purpose never retires".
According to her, "I continue to advocate through my foundation (BAAF): for girls in STEM, birth registration with UNHCR, solar tech in agriculture, healthcare in rural Nigeria, and justice for the voiceless".
They tried to silence me. But I write, I speak, I act, I am a living proof that resilience is a superpower and here's to thriving beyond widowhood
