In what appears to be the best news item of the year 2025, newsroom maestro and quintessential broadcast news manager, Mrs. Stella Din Jacob have been promoted to where she would do more exploits in the newsroom with an appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Stella is among those appointed to steer the ship of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA in the next four years as Executive Director, News.
This appointment comes on the heel of so many complaint about the dilapidation in NTA newsroom over the years but with the coming onboard of the maestro herself, the revamping process of the NTA is about to begin.
According to documents seen by "News PlatformNG", the appointments, conveyed through a presidential directive are as follows:
Mr. Rotimi Pedro is the new Director-General, Karima Bello is Executive Director, Marketing, while the darling of Nigerian newsroom, Stella Din Jacob is Executive Director, News
Also appointed is Sophia Essahmed as Managing Director of NTA Enterprises Ltd and even though the Presidency is yet to issue a formal statement, sources within the information sector say the changes are part of president Tinubu’s broader media realignment strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections, aimed at boosting NTA’s competitiveness and aligning its messaging with the administration’s priorities.
Until this appointment, Stella Din Jacob was the Director of News and Editor-In-Chief at TVC News and responsible for the huge turnaround noticeable on TVC News.
