Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has nominated four more commissioners for screening and approval by the State House of Assembly.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Umar Musa Ikhilor, the latest nominees included Prince Kassim Afegbua, Godwin Eshieshi, Ohimai Ehijimetor, and Eugenia Abdallah.
Governor Okpebholo confirmed that the list had already been prepared for submission to the lawmakers for consideration.
It will be recalled that the governor had earlier approved four other commissioner designates to wit: Barrister Nosa dams, Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, Felix Akhabue, and Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa, bringing the total number of pending nominees to eight.
Since assuming office, Governor Okpebholo has so far appointed nine commissioners.
If all eight new nominees scale through the legislative screening, the number of serving commissioners in Edo State will rise to 17.
One of the nominees, Prince Kassim Afegbua comes onboard with a huge pedigree and vast wealth of experience on the job having served as both Special Adviser and later Commissioner of Information and Orientation to former Governor, now senator, Adams Oshiomhole.
