Who Wears The "BIG SHOE" Left By Stella Din-Jacob As Director/EIC At News At TVC News?

The news broken by "News PlatformNG" on the appointment of a former Director of News and Editor-In-Chief at TVC News by President Bola Tinubu, Stella Din-Jacob has finally settled as the story, which had no iota of falsehood is true and now in the public domain.

Appointed as Executive Director, News of the biggest television network in Africa, the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Stella is expected to bring on board, her more than two decades wealth of experience as not only a broadcast news manager, a newsroom juggernaut, but as the ONLY one in the sector, with none remaining as a rejuvenator of the Nigerian newsroom today but the crux of this piece is on who steps into the BIG SHOE she left behind at as Director of News and Editor in Chief.

Stella Din-Jacob is a Nigerian media executive, lawyer, broadcast journalist. Born to Captain Joseph Din and Christy Din, a native of Plateau State. She took a foundation course in law at the University of Warwick, got her B.L at the Nigerian Law School and a law degree at the University of Kent, England.

She became the Director of News at TVC News in October 2018, worked in various Nigerian media organisations including News 24, Channels Television, Minaj and Silverbird Television.

While working with Channels Television between 1994 and 2002, Stella produced programmes on the foreign and diplomatic desks, served as newscaster and editor.

She also freelanced for CNN and Al Jazeera. She consulted for stations across Nigeria, making her a sort-after newsroom professor and turnarond agent and if you missed Stella sterling records, you then need to go back to look through her performance at MBI, which won the station an award in the first year of her coming onboard, same thing she did at TVC News. 

When Stella came in at TVC, she met a system that was in total disarray, with staff of the newsroom strongheaded to accept the change that came at a point in time till  she, with support from the board, had breakthrough to achieve what is seem today as the only working newsroom in Nigeria, i.e, TVC News.

Who takes over from Stella as her journey in Abuja begins and only one person comes to mind.

The Mavrick himself and Controller of Programmes at TVC News, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju has been penciled, if the news filtering in is true, to wear the shoes left by Stella and according to information available to "News PlatformNG", he is the only one with the matching feet for the shoes.

BKO as he is fondly called, is an integral part of the newsroom at TVC, instrumental to all the successes recorded by TVC Communications at the moment, loved by newsroom staff and has the backing of President Bola Tinubu.

So, as the VDM of the Nigerian newsroom, weapon formed and fashioned against bad behavior in the newsroom, Stella Din-Jacob moves to higher responsibilities and national calling, Babajide Kolade Otitoju, when appointed, is expected not to bring down the standards left by Stella, having been in the same position before Stella was brough in to stir the ship upwards.
