Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has officially relieved his cabinet members of their duties, expressing gratitude for their service and contributions to the state's development over the last two years.
The individuals affected include commissioners and other public officials whose appointments were recently invalidated by the Supreme Court, effectively marking the end of their tenure as a result of the court’s decision.
Fubara, who had been suspended during the State of Emergency declared in the state by President Bola Tinubu, offered commendation to his outgoing cabinet during a valedictory session held on Wednesday at Government House, Port Harcourt. The event formed part of the activities commemorating Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
The Governor underlined the significance of national unity and urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu in fostering a peaceful, safe, and prosperous country.
Reaffirming his dedication to serve the people of Rivers State with renewed determination, Fubara expressed appreciation to the citizens for their unwavering support and extended wishes for a joyful Independence Anniversary to all Nigerians.
