Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has disclosed the reason she opted to adopt her husband’s surname following her marriage to musician Mr Eazi.

During a recent interview with BBC Pidgin, Temi stated that the decision stemmed from her new identity as a married woman.

She underscored her admiration for women who decide to retain their maiden names, stressing the importance of personal choice.

Temi further discussed the importance of maintaining privacy in her relationship, which allowed her to shape her own story and reveal it at her preferred time.

“I’m now a married woman, the obvious thing for me is to take my husband’s name. But it’s my personal choice. I also respect a woman’s ability to choose,” she said.

“Moving in silence allows you to build the story you want and share it when and how you’re ready,” she said.

According to her, this method allows her to remain in control of her narrative and avoid outside pressure.

Their love story began with a civil wedding in Monaco, proceeded with a traditional Yoruba ceremony in Dubai, and concluded with a white wedding set against the scenic backdrop of Iceland.
