The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has denied reports claiming he will replace Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate in the 2027 election.
Yilwatda described the claims as false and said the party has no plans to drop Shettima from the ticket.
He explained that the speculations are being fueled by opposition groups and that discussions about running mates are not yet relevant, as decisions will only follow the party’s primary elections.
He further stated that the Tinubu-Shettima ticket remains intact, and no conversations about changing the vice president have taken place.
He said: "People are trying to raise dust where there is no dust at all. Most of the speculation comes from the opposition.
"Nobody is discussing the issue of the vice president"
