The All Progressives Congress has changed the leadership of its Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 national convention, with former Katsina State governor Aminu Bello Masari now leading the body as chairman.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who was earlier announced as chairman of the committee, has been reassigned to serve as treasurer following the party’s fresh decision.
The development was confirmed on Thursday, February 6, 2026, as part of a broader review of the committee’s composition ahead of the planned national convention.
Alongside the leadership change, the ruling party increased the size of the committee from 73 members to 90 in order to create room for more party figures and interests.
Among those newly added to the committee is Senator Barry Mpigi, alongside other well-known members of the APC.
The party explained that the reshuffle followed a revised arrangement of the committee, guided by zoning considerations and other political needs as preparations continue for the 2026 national convention.
