Army Opens 2026 Recruitment Exercise.

The Nigerian Army has announced the start of applications for its 91 Regular Recruits Intake, targeting both tradesmen and non-tradesmen across the country.

The announcement was made on Sunday, March 22, 2026, through the Army’s official X platform, where it stated that online registration will begin on March 30 and end on May 17, 2026.

Interested applicants are expected to complete their registration through the official recruitment website.

The recruitment drive follows the completion of the 90th intake held in 2025 and is aimed at bringing in new personnel to boost the strength of the Army.

Those who are successful will go through training before being fully enlisted into service.

According to the Army, applicants must be Nigerians by birth.

Age requirements differ depending on the category, with non-trades applicants expected to be between 18 and 22 years old, while trades applicants can apply from age 17 up to 25 years.

There are also physical and academic requirements. Male applicants must have a minimum height of 1.68 metres, while female applicants must be at least 1.58 metres tall.

In addition, candidates must present valid identification, including their National Identification Number and Bank Verification Number, as part of efforts to prevent fraud and ensure a clean process.

Educational qualification is also required, with applicants expected to have at least a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.

The Army warned that the application process is free and advised the public to avoid anyone asking for payment or claiming to offer assistance in exchange for money.
