Adamu Atiku-Abubakar has stepped down from his role as Adamawa State Commissioner for Works and Energy Development.
His resignation was made public through a statement by his media aide, Abdulaziz Jauro.
Adamu is expected to join his father in the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In his farewell, he expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for trusting him with the responsibilities of the ministry and said serving in the position was an honour.
He also thanked the ministry staff, including engineers, directors, and permanent secretaries, for their hard work and dedication to infrastructure projects across the state.
He acknowledged his father’s support, saying it gave him the confidence to serve the people of Adamawa.
Adamu clarified that leaving the ministry does not mean stepping away from public service. He said he is ready to explore new ways to contribute to the development, unity, and progress of Adamawa State.
The resignation comes shortly after Governor Fintiri, along with some cabinet members and senior officials, joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
