Bauchi Forests Cleared Of Bandits - Governor.

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, announced that bandits no longer have hideouts in the state’s forests after recent security operations, especially in the Alkaleri area, which had faced multiple attacks in the past weeks.

The governor made the statement during the Eid-el-Fitr Durbar at Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu Square in Bauchi, explaining that combined efforts by the Nigerian military and other security agencies had forced criminal groups out of the state and beyond its borders.

Communities such as Mansur and Gwana in Alkaleri Local Government Area had recently been targeted, raising concerns among residents.

According to Mohammed, the forests have been cleared through coordinated military actions and better intelligence gathering.

He credited the Armed Forces and security agencies for restoring calm to Alkaleri and neighboring areas.

He also urged residents to stay vigilant and provide useful information to security teams to maintain the progress achieved.

During the event, the governor asked for forgiveness from the people of Bauchi as his administration approaches the end of its second term next year, acknowledging that no leader is perfect.

He assured citizens that ongoing projects in health, education, and road construction would continue until the administration ends.

Mohammed added that his government would maintain strong collaboration with traditional leaders, describing the partnership as essential for peace, security, and social harmony in the state.
