Details Of Peter Obi’s Meeting With ADC Stakeholders In Kaduna.

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has called for a shift from money-driven politics to competence-based leadership during a visit to Kaduna State.

Obi made the call on Sunday while meeting stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as part of his ongoing nationwide consultations.

He disclosed details of the visit via his verified Facebook page, noting that the engagement provided insight into the political climate of the state.

“Today… I visited Kaduna State, where I met with our party stakeholders and members,” Obi said.

During the visit, Obi met with notable political actors, including: Dr Ahmed Tijjani, a gubernatorial hopeful; Lawal Adamu, representing Kaduna Central.

He said the interaction revealed a shared desire among stakeholders to contribute to national development.

The former Anambra governor described Kaduna as a critical state in Nigeria’s development trajectory.

According to him, the state once stood as a symbol of unity and economic strength, driven by industry, agriculture, and commerce.

“Kaduna remains a very strategic state… it still holds that potential,” he said.

Obi emphasised the need to rebuild trust and foster unity among Nigerians, warning that division remains a major barrier to progress.

“A divided society cannot progress, but a united… one will always find a path to peace and development,” he stated.

He also criticised the increasing influence of money in politics, urging leaders to focus on competence, integrity, and measurable results.

“Leaders must move away from the politics of money and embrace competence, character, and results,” Obi said.

Obi expressed optimism that Nigeria can overcome its challenges with the right leadership and collective effort.

“This visit has strengthened my belief that with the right leadership and collective effort, we can build a Nigeria that works—one where every citizen, regardless of background, has a sense of belonging and opportunity.

“I leave Kaduna feeling encouraged and hopeful that a New Nigeria is POssible,” Peter Obi wrote
