Delegates from Sabuwa Local Government Area in Katsina State were involved in a serious road accident while traveling to the All Progressives Congress (APC) North-West Zonal Congress.
The crash resulted in the death of one delegate, Dalhat Machika, while several others sustained injuries.
Among those hurt are the former Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Sirajo Umar Damari, and the APC Chairman of Sabuwa Local Government.
The injured were taken to Yusuf Dantsoho Memorial Hospital in Tudun Wada, Kaduna, where they are receiving medical care.
After the congress, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda visited the hospital to see the victims.
He offered condolences to the families of those affected, wished the injured a swift recovery, and assured them that the state government would provide support during this period.
Governor Radda was joined by top officials, including the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, and the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, during the visit.
