Four men have been taken into custody for allegedly pretending to be the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, to cheat a military officer out of N150 million.
The main suspect, Yashim Kajang, was arrested on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, for allegedly defrauding retired Major General A.K. Ibrahim and others.
The scam involved a supposed land deal in Guzape II Cadastral Zone, Abuja, where Kajang claimed he was working with the FCT Minister and the Director of Lands to secure land documents.
Kajang is said to have received more than N150 million for Plot 1985 at Guzape II, which covers three hectares, along with other plots.
During questioning, Kajang identified three others who allegedly assisted him: Stephen Mhambe and Danladi Jatau, both linked to the Urban and Regional Planning Department of the FCT Administration, and Terngu Ipaven of Durumi 2, Abuja. Kajang admitted that the trio gave him land information that he used to carry out the fraudulent transactions.
All four suspects are still under investigation by the police.
