A report by ARISE News says that the mother of former Governor of Kaduna State and chieftain of the ADC, Nasir El-Rufai is dead.
According
to the report, she died in Egypt, "where she had been receiving care prior
to her passing."
"El-Rufai
was with her in Egypt but returned to Nigeria to honour an invitation from
anti-graft agencies before her death," the report said, adding:
"The
former governor has recently been linked to investigations by the Independent
Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over alleged
financial mismanagement during his tenure in Kaduna State, allegations he has
denied."
El-Rufai
served as governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023 and remains a prominent
figure in Nigeria’s political landscape.
