Nigerian Governor's Aide Slumps, Dies.

A senior aide to Sheriff Oborevwori, Sunday Kotor, has died after collapsing during a private function in Delta State.

The incident happened on Friday evening when Kotor suddenly slumped at the gathering.

He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but doctors later confirmed that he did not survive despite efforts to save his life.

Kotor served as Senior Special Assistant on Protocol to the governor and was known for handling official programmes and events for the state government.

His duties placed him at the centre of major state functions, where he ensured smooth coordination.

Reacting to the incident, Governor Oborevwori described the death as a painful loss.

He noted that Kotor was deeply committed to his responsibilities and played an important role in the daily operations of the government.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor also sent condolences to the family of the deceased.

He made special mention of Kotor’s younger brother, Conference Kotor, who is also part of the administration.

Kotor was a familiar figure at the Government House in Asaba, where he served for over 20 years.

He was widely known for anchoring major state events as a master of ceremonies across different administrations.

Over the years, he worked under past governors such as Emmanuel Uduaghan and Ifeanyi Okowa, and continued in the same role under the current government.

His long service made him one of the most recognised figures in the state’s official events circle.
