Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has dismissed the Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Shehu Wada Sagagi, from his position with immediate effect.
The development was made known on Thursday through a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The statement directed the former commissioner to hand over the responsibilities of the ministry to the Director of Commerce until a new decision is made.
Governor Yusuf, while reacting to the change, appreciated Sagagi for his time in office and acknowledged his efforts in different areas, including his role in political activities, religious matters, and support for small and medium businesses in the state.
He also wished him well in his next steps and assured residents that his government remains focused on delivering good governance and improving services across the state.
The statement explained that the decision is part of ongoing adjustments within the administration to improve how government structures operate and to support steady development in Kano State.
This is not the first time Sagagi is leaving the governor’s team.
In December 2024, he was removed from his earlier role as Chief of Staff before later serving as a commissioner.
