Boko Haram Food Supplier Sentenced To Prison.

Justice Binta Fatima Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has sentenced a major food supplier to Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State, Hamatu Modu, to 40 years imprisonment for his involvement in terrorism-related activities.

Modu was prosecuted by the Federal Government through the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

The convict, who admitted in open court to supplying food items and information to the terrorist group, was arraigned on a four-count charge.

He pleaded guilty to all the charges when they were read to him.

The prosecution was led by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN).

Delivering judgment, Justice Nyako sentenced Modu to 10 years imprisonment on each of the four counts.

However, following a plea by the defence counsel, the court ordered that the sentences should run concurrently, effectively reducing the total time to be served to 10 years.
