The Nigerian movie industry, aka Nollywood, has been thrown another death blow as it has been announced of the death of a popular Nigerian actor Solomon Akiyesi died this morning.

According to a post by blogger Sella Dimorku-Korkus, who wrote on her platform with "Actor Solomon Akiyesi Reportedly Dead."

She says "According to info reaching me, he slept on Sunday and didn't wake up.

May his soul rest on in peace"

"News PlatformNG" reached out to first, the current National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Mr. Yakub Abubakar through both WhatsApp messages and calls, but until press time, he had yet to respond to us, but the former National President of AGN, Emeka Rollas Ejezie responded promptly, assuring us of getting back with his findings and keeping to his word.

AGN National President Yakub Abubakar responded with "Yes. It is true. He died yesterday" as "News PlatformNG" was putting together this story.

Dr. Emeka Rollas-Ejezie just informed "News PlatformNG" that Solomon Akiyesi's wife just confirmed the death of her husband to him.

Speaking exclusively to "News PlatformNG", the National Vice President, North Central of the AGN, actor and producer Nazareth Jesse said "Mr. Solomon O. Akaisi was a kind-hearted man, friendly, playful, and warm in spirit. He had a way of making people feel comfortable, and his presence brought joy to those around him. He will be remembered for his good nature, lively personality, and the positive impact he made in the lives of many."

Furthermore, Ms. Jesse said that according to Solomon's wife, he passed away on Sunday midnight after a brief illness related to chronic ulcer, and his body has been deposited in the morgue.
