Dating Pool In Lagos Is Messy — Actor Teniola.

 

Nollywood actor Teniola has sparked reactions after bluntly describing Lagos dating as chaotic and disappointing.

Speaking on the I Said What I Said podcast, the actress revealed she is currently taking a break from dating until May, but didn’t hold back when asked about her experiences.

According to her, “the dating pool in Lagos is just a puddle,” adding that it’s messy and far from ideal.

Despite the harsh take, Teniola said she has never actually had a terrible date. Instead, she quickly figures out after the first outing whether there’s any future.

“We may be flirting, but after that first date, you will never see me again,” she said, explaining that she doesn’t waste time forcing connections that clearly won’t work.

She also admitted that dating as a public figure comes with its own challenges, noting that some people approach her out of curiosity rather than genuine interest.

“Some just want to demystify you because they’ve seen you online,” she said.

On relationships within the film industry, the actress made her stance clear, she’s not a fan, especially when it comes to actors. While she said she might consider producers or directors, dating fellow actors is a firm “no” for her.

Teniola added that she doesn’t get approached as often as people might think, as some men find her intimidating. However, she insists she’s simply a “happy girl” who just doesn’t tolerate nons£nse.

Reflecting on a past experience, she admitted ignoring her instincts once after listening to advice from male friends, something she now regrets.

“I saw the signs, but I stayed and later I nose like, what am I doing here?” she said.
