Former governors from Nigeria’s South East have launched the South East Former Governors Forum after a meeting in Enugu on April 7, 2026.
The forum

national issues, and promote development across Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu,
and Imo states...
Membership
is open to all past governors regardless of party. Minister of Works David
Umahi said many former governors missed the meeting due to travel or medical
appointments but expects over 90% attendance next time.
The group

appointments and infrastructure projects benefiting the region. It also noted
that all serving South East governors support his re‑election bid.
Attendees
included Sullivan Chime, Martin Elechi, Okezie Ikpeazu, Chris Ngige, and
