Founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has stirred widespread reactions following comments on the rising insecurity in Nigeria, particularly att@cks against Christians in the northern region.
During a recent sermon, Pastor Ibiyeomie expressed deep concern over the nation’s security situation, contrasting it with global technological advancement. He lamented that while other countries focus on innovation, Nigeria remains mired in vi%lence.
He said,
“See, they are going to space, I saw it yesterday. Nigeria is busy kidn+pping. We are busy k+lling Christians in the north. Our own is to k+ll Christians, gen+cide in the north. When the world is thinking of how to go to space, Nigeria is busy k+lling people.”
The pastor urged Nigerians to speak up and resist continued vi%lence, stressing that silence was no longer an option.
“And it must stop in this nation! Stop! We must stop. If nobody is talking, we must stop. We can’t keep k+lling Christians in the north. Wake up from your slumber. Wake up from your what? Christians in the north, wake up.”
Citing Israel as an example, Pastor Ibiyeomie encouraged Christians to take responsibility for their safety if the government fails to protect them.
“Israel is a small nation. They didn’t allow Arabs to k+ll them. Stop waiting for others. If the government cannot defend you, defend yourself, Christians in the north. They can’t defend you. Israel didn’t wait for anybody they defended themselves.”
Highlighting the importance of being prepared, he added a practical call to action:
“Get a walking stick! Get your what? Get a walking stick! I said walking stick.”
