Tragedy struck in Abuja following the reported death of a legal practitioner who became trapped inside an elevator at a hotel, raising fresh concerns about safety standards in public facilities.
According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred on Monday, March 30, 2026. The victim was said to have remained stuck in the lift for a prolonged period, with early suspicions pointing to suffocation as the cause of d+ath.
However, authorities have yet to confirm the exact circumstances surrounding the incident, as it remains unclear whether it was caused by a power outage or a mechanical fault.
As of the time of this report, neither the hotel management nor relevant authorities have released an official statement, and the identity of the hotel has not been disclosed.
Meanwhile, friends and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn his passing.
