Sola Giwa has stepped down from his role as Special Adviser on Transportation to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The development was made known on Wednesday through a post on his official X page, where he confirmed that he had already left the position a day earlier.
Giwa served in the administration where he worked on transport matters under the government’s THEMES+ agenda. During his time in office, he was part of efforts aimed at improving the state’s transport system.
He expressed appreciation to the governor for giving him the chance to serve in that capacity and for the trust placed in him while he handled the role.
The former aide explained that his decision to resign is connected to his plan to seek elective office. He said he is preparing to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.
Giwa is aiming to represent Lagos Island Federal Constituency II at the National Assembly.
According to him, the move followed careful thinking and consultations with people around him. He noted that he now wants to take on a new responsibility that involves representing his constituency at the federal level.
His next step, he said, will focus on lawmaking and providing representation for the people of his constituency, as he seeks to make an impact through legislative duties.
