The Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Simon Bako Lalong, has congratulated Engr. Dr. Bongfa Binfa on his appointment as the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Nya’k-Shendam, Plateau State.
Senator Lalong described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of competence, experience, and capacity, noting that the choice of Engr. Dr. Binfa reflects the commitment of the Federal Government to placing the right individuals in positions where they can deliver value.
He expressed delight that “a square peg has been placed in a square hole,” stressing that the new Rector possesses the requisite expertise to drive meaningful transformation within the institution.
He charged Engr. Dr. Binfa to provide visionary and inclusive leadership that will inspire staff and students alike, while addressing foundational challenges confronting the Polytechnic.
According to him, the institution holds great potential to contribute significantly to technical education and human capital development in Plateau State and beyond, and must be repositioned to achieve this mandate.
Senator Lalong also called on other newly appointed principal officers, members of staff, and students of the Polytechnic to give the new Rector their maximum support and cooperation.
He emphasized that collective effort, unity, and shared commitment are essential for building a strong and impactful institution.
The former Governor wished Engr. Dr. Bongfa Binfa a successful tenure and assured him of his continued support in advancing the growth and development of the Federal Polytechnic Nya’k-Shendam.
Senator Lalong expresses profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for considering the candidate and also thanked the Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa for ensuring that the selection process was done in line with laid down standards.
