State Commissioner Resigns From Position.

The Commissioner for Works in Kogi State, Mohammed Ahovi Yusuf, has resigned from his role, saying his decision was due to personal reasons.

His resignation was submitted in a letter addressed to the state governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, through the Secretary to the State Government.

Ahovi had been appointed to the position on February 5, 2024, and served in the administration for over a year.

In his message, he expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve in government and take part in the development of the state, especially in the area of infrastructure.

He also thanked the governor and members of the executive council for their support during his time in office.

He further showed gratitude to the people of Kogi State for their cooperation throughout his tenure and wished the administration success in its ongoing work.

He added that he believes the state will continue to grow and move forward under the current leadership.

Although he did not give full details about his exit, reports suggest that his resignation may be linked to a political ambition.

According to reports, he might be preparing to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives, in line with electoral rules that require public office holders to step down before seeking elective positions.
