Nigerian nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has finally spoken about his fallout with Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy, claiming the music star came for him despite their long history together.
Speaking during a recent interview on Thebeat 99.9 FM, Cubana Chief Priest revealed that Burna Boy used to perform at his events back in the day and they shared a close relationship before things turned sour.
“Success comes with a lot of h@te,” he said. “I was on my own, and Burna came for me.”
According to him, the singer allegedly used his platform to att@ck his wealth and image publicly.
“He went on his big platform and started tweeting things that are not genuine, things that are not possible,” he stated. “The att@ck was straight to my wealth. He wanted to make people disrespect my wealth.”
Chief Priest said he was hurt because he played a role in supporting Burna Boy’s career during his early days.
“This is the same source that was booking you, this is the same source that was paying you,” he said. “How of a sudden you now feel so big to m+ck or try to bring down something that helped make you?”
He also linked the fallout to his close friendship with superstar singer Davido.
“That happened because of my relationship with Davido,” he claimed. “David is always there for me. David opened all my outlets, all my nightclub, restaurant, everything.”
The businessman further revealed that the drama pushed him into music, saying he wanted to prove he could succeed in any field he chooses.
“I’m like, I can actually do this your music too,’” he said. “To let you know that I can do anything I want to do.”
