Lagos PDP Suspends Chief Bode George, 23 Others.

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State loyal to Nyesom Wike has suspended former Deputy National Chairman of the party, Bode George, along with 23 other members over claims of anti-party conduct.

The decision was made after a disciplinary committee meeting held on May 26, 2026. The committee said it reviewed several petitions against some party members, which involved accusations of actions seen as going against the party’s rules and activities that could create division within the group.

In its findings, the committee stated that it also looked into earlier action taken by the party’s National Executive Committee and maintained that Bode George remains under suspension as previously announced. It added that the affected members would no longer take part in party activities in Lagos State or act on behalf of the party in any capacity.

Among those also affected by the suspension are Aduke Maina, Abimbola Ogunkelu, Laja Adeoye, Tunji Shele, Sunday Olaifa, Gbenga Adegbesan, Rita Orji, Kofoworola Bucknor, and Onikepo Oshodi, among others.

The committee further said it examined claims that some members worked with rival political groups or took part in political actions not approved by the party, which it described as harmful to internal unity.

It warned that anyone who continues to act against the party’s position could face further action, including legal steps if necessary.

Bode George, a long-time figure in Lagos PDP politics, has in recent times been linked to internal disagreements within party factions in the state. Attempts to reach him for response were not successful as his phone line did not connect and messages sent to him were not delivered at the time of filing this report.
