Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze has expressed shock over the cost of watching a match at a FIFA fan viewing area in Dallas, United States during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The actor shared his reaction in a video posted on his Facebook page while attending a fan festival for the Group K match between DR Congo and Portugal in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He was surprised that fans were asked to pay $30 to access the outdoor viewing area where matches were shown on large screens. He also noted that the amount is roughly equivalent to about ₦40,000 in Nigeria.
He described the experience as similar to local viewing centres in Nigeria because of the crowd and atmosphere, but pointed out that the organisation was more structured, with strong security presence around the venue.
The actor also observed that additional charges were applied for parking, which also cost $30, adding to the overall expense for attendees.
The match he attended saw DR Congo hold Portugal to a 1-1 draw in their opening Group K fixture.
