News PlatformNG reports that pop superstar Ariana Grande has publicly criticized the White House for using her song “Bye” in a social media post promoting US immigration arrests, calling the video “barbaric.”
The controversial TikTok video, released by the White House on Tuesday, depicted US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arresting and handcuffing individuals. Grande’s track played in the background, while the post was captioned: “Bye-bye. President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history.”
Grande responded on Thursday in the comment section of the post, writing: “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. F*** ICE,” according to Variety. By Friday morning, her comment was no longer visible on the TikTok video.
A source close to the singer told Reuters that her team was exploring options to remove the song from the video entirely.
White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson defended the post, stating: “We’ll say this one last time: what’s actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens.”
