Kemi Badenoch Attacks Starmer After Resignation.

Leader of the UK Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, has criticised British Prime Minister Keir Starmer following his resignation as Labour Party leader.

Starmer announced on Monday that he would step down as Labour leader after spending less than two years in office. He said he would remain prime minister until the party elects a new leader.

Reacting to the development, Badenoch described Starmer as a poor leader and blamed his government for several policy decisions she believes have damaged the country.

According to her, the Labour administration increased National Insurance contributions, introduced new policies affecting family farms, failed to carry out major welfare reforms, did not provide enough funding for defence, and did not do enough to boost domestic oil and gas production.

Badenoch also claimed that the problems facing Britain were not caused by the country being difficult to govern but by the decisions taken under Starmer's leadership.

The Conservative leader further argued that Labour lawmakers support higher taxes to fund increased welfare spending. She said the challenges facing the country go beyond Starmer alone and are linked to the policies and values of the Labour Party.

She called for a return to Conservative leadership, saying her party was better positioned to improve Britain's economy and public services.

Starmer's resignation comes after months of political pressure, policy reversals and growing public dissatisfaction with his government.

Speaking outside 10 Downing Street while announcing his decision, Starmer said his actions in office had been guided by what he believed was best for Britain. He also pledged to remain in office until Labour members choose a new party leader.
