The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has suspended senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mike Ozekhome, from the prestigious rank pending the conclusion of disciplinary proceedings against him.
The decision was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by Kabir Akanbi, Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court.
According to the statement, the suspension was approved during the committee’s 173rd General Meeting held on June 23.
The LPPC explained that the action was taken in line with Paragraph 26(6) of the guidelines governing the conferment and regulation of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria rank.
It added that the suspension will remain in effect until the final determination of ongoing disciplinary proceedings before its disciplinary and ethics sub-committee, as well as any related matters.
