Football legend David Beckham is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, marking another milestone in a career that has spanned sports, entertainment, and global culture.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that Beckham will be honored on June 12 at 10 a.m. PT, becoming the 2,849th recipient of a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. He will be recognized in the Sports Entertainment category for his contributions both on and off the football pitch.
The ceremony is expected to feature appearances by Hollywood actor Tom Cruise and Beckham's wife, Victoria Beckham, the former Spice Girls star turned fashion designer.
Announcing the honor, Ana Martinez of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said Beckham's recognition comes at a significant time as the United States prepares to host the FIFA World Cup.
"David Beckham's recognition with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in the Sports Entertainment category comes at a fitting moment as the United States prepares to host the FIFA World Cup," Martinez said.
"Beckham's role in elevating soccer's profile in America and his lasting influence on sports, entertainment, and global culture make this honor especially meaningful."
Widely regarded as one of football's most influential figures, Beckham enjoyed a decorated playing career with some of the world's biggest clubs, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Before retiring in 2013, he became the first footballer to win major league titles in four different countries, cementing his place among the sport's all-time greats.
Since stepping away from professional football, Beckham has remained a prominent figure in sports. He currently serves as co-owner and president of Major League Soccer club Inter Miami CF, helping drive the growth of the game in the United States.
Beyond football, Beckham has expanded his influence into the entertainment industry. In 2019, he founded Studio 99, a production company responsible for several sports and documentary projects. He has also made cameo appearances in films and television productions, including *King Arthur: Legend of the Sword* The Man from U.N.C.L.E, and Friends: The Reunion.
The upcoming Walk of Fame ceremony will celebrate Beckham's lasting impact across sport, entertainment, and popular culture, recognizing a legacy that continues to resonate worldwide.
