The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, on behalf of the Governing Board, Management and Staff of the Commission, heartily felicitates with former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, GCON, on the occasion of his 84th birthday.
Dr. Tsenyil describes General Abdulsalami Abubakar as an outstanding patriot, statesman and leader whose service to Nigeria throughout his distinguished military career remains a shining example of commitment, sacrifice and devotion to national unity and development.
The NCDC Chief Executive notes that General Abdulsalami occupies a unique place in Nigeria's history for his pivotal role in successfully handing over power to a democratically elected civilian administration in 1999, a landmark achievement that strengthened democratic governance and further consolidated the nation's democratic journey.
According to Dr. Tsenyil, the former Nigerian leader has continued to demonstrate exemplary leadership and dedication to peace, stability and nation-building through his wise counsel and interventions on matters of national importance.
As a proud son of the North Central region, General Abdulsalami remains a source of inspiration to millions of Nigerians, particularly the people of the region who take pride in his remarkable contributions to the growth and progress of the country.
The North Central Development Commission expresses appreciation for his enduring legacy of service and prays for God's continued blessings upon him with good health, strength, wisdom and many more years of impactful service to humanity and the nation.
