The North Central Development Commission (NCDC) has joined millions of Nigerians and Pres of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the occasion of the 2026 Democracy Day.
In a goodwill message on behalf of the Governing Board, Management, and Staff, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, said Democracy Day offers an opportunity to reflect on the nation's democratic journey and acknowledge the contributions of leaders who have sustained democratic governance in Nigeria.
Dr. Tsenyil noted that President Tinubu and many notable Nigerians played a significant role in the struggle for the restoration and entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria and has continued to demonstrate commitment to democratic ideals through his leadership and governance.
He said the President's Renewed Hope Agenda has continued to inspire confidence among Nigerians and strengthen efforts towards national development.
The NCDC MD reaffirmed the Commission's commitment to supporting the administration's vision for sustainable growth and inclusive development, particularly within the North Central geopolitical zone.
He stated that the Commission remains focused on delivering interventions that will improve infrastructure, stimulate economic activities, enhance human capital development, and deepen the dividends of democracy for the people of the region.
While congratulating Nigerians on the occasion, Dr. Tsenyil urged citizens to continue supporting democratic institutions and work collectively towards building a more prosperous, peaceful, and united nation.
He prayed for God's continued guidance, wisdom, and strength for President Tinubu as he leads the country towards greater progress and prosperity.
Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria.
