Friends and loved ones have taken to social media to mourn a young woman who was allegedly killed by her boyfriend in Edjeba, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Photos of the deceased surfaced online on Wednesday as friends paid tribute to her, a day after the tragic incident that reportedly claimed her life.
According to reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the suspect's residence on Ajidi Street in Edjeba.
Sources close to the victim disclosed that she had been in a relationship with the suspect and allegedly contacted friends in distress shortly before her death, claiming that her boyfriend was harming her.
Concerned friends reportedly attempted to reach the suspect by phone, but he allegedly denied that the woman was with him at the time.
Hours later, the victim's body was discovered in a pool of blood inside the suspect's living room. Reports indicate that she suffered a fatal wound to the neck, along with multiple stab injuries.
Residents of the community said the deceased was a regular visitor to the suspect's apartment and had last been seen on Monday, June 22, purchasing food items reportedly intended for a meal they planned to share.
According to eyewitness accounts, the landlord became alarmed after hearing screams from the apartment and alerted security personnel.
Police officers responded to the scene and discovered the woman's lifeless body bearing severe injuries. The suspect was immediately arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
Confirming the incident, Delta State Police Command spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, with many calling for justice for the deceased and urging the Police to ensure a thorough investigation.
