Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has shared her thoughts on cohabitation before marriage, saying she believes couples should live together and determine their sexual compatibility before making a lifelong commitment.
The actress made the remarks while reacting to a statement by a pastor who said, "If sex is not your thing, you shouldn't be married."
Agreeing with the pastor's view, Amusa argued that sexual compatibility plays a significant role in a successful marriage, especially for people who are already sexually active.
"He’s right and that is why I do not believe people aren’t meant to co-habit before marriage. Two virgins getting married without any wild desires may cope, but for the tested ones, we all have our sexual desires, demands and preferences," she wrote.
According to the actress, the purpose of cohabitation extends beyond sharing household responsibilities, insisting that intimacy is one of the most important aspects couples should evaluate before marriage.
"The essence of co-habitation is beyond cooking and laying of bedsheets, sex is top three and it’s not even number two or three," she added.
Amusa further advised couples to fully understand each other's sexual expectations before deciding to spend the rest of their lives together.
"Get down with your partners well so you'll know what you're planning to live with for life!
"I recommend sexual compatibility before decision is reached! P.S. MY OPINION," she concluded.
