IGP Promotes 374 Police Officers In Kwara.

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the promotion of 374 officers serving in the Kwara State Police Command.

The promotion is part of an ongoing nationwide exercise aimed at rewarding officers for dedication, professionalism and service to the Nigeria Police Force.

According to a statement issued on Friday by the spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the exercise affected officers across different ranks within the command.

A breakdown of the promotions showed that 365 police constables were elevated to the rank of corporal, while two corporals moved up to the rank of sergeant. Five sergeants were promoted to inspectors, while two superintendents of police were advanced to the rank of chief superintendent of police.

Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, congratulated the officers and described the promotion as recognition of their dedication and contributions to maintaining peace and security in the state.

He stated that the elevation should also be seen as a reminder of the greater responsibilities that come with higher ranks. He urged the beneficiaries to remain disciplined, professional and committed to the values of the Nigeria Police Force.

The commissioner called on the promoted officers to renew their commitment to protecting lives and property while helping to maintain public safety across the state.

Adekimi also praised the Inspector-General of Police for giving attention to personnel welfare, career growth and the development of the police institution.

He noted that the promotion exercise had improved the morale of officers and men of the command.

The latest round of promotions reflects the police leadership’s efforts to encourage dedication, professionalism and improved service delivery across commands nationwide.
