Isaac Fayose Alleges INEC Handed Uncollected PVCs To APC Ahead Of Ekiti Governorship Election.

Businessman Isaac Fayose has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of allegedly allowing uncollected Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to fall into the hands of members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election.

Fayose made the allegation on Saturday as voters headed to the polls to elect a new governor for the state.

According to him, individuals affiliated with the APC were allegedly given access to uncollected voter cards, which he claimed would subsequently be distributed to non-indigenes brought into the state to participate in the election.

He further alleged that the individuals were being offered ₦20,000 each in exchange for casting their votes in favour of the ruling party.

Fayose did not provide evidence to support the claims, and neither INEC nor the APC had publicly responded to the allegations as of the time of filing this report.

The allegations come amid heightened political tension surrounding the governorship election, with stakeholders calling for a transparent, credible, and peaceful electoral process.

INEC has repeatedly assured Nigerians of its commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections, while security agencies have also pledged to maintain law and order throughout the exercise.
