The Jigawa State Government has approved the suspension of five political appointees working in Auyo Local Government Council with immediate effect.
The decision affects two Supervisory Councillors and three Special Advisers attached to the council chairman.
A statement from the Ministry for Local Government and Community Development, signed by its Public Relations Officer, Najib Umar, confirmed that the suspension was approved by the state government through the ministry and takes effect immediately.
Those affected include Bala Energy and Abdullahi Usman, both Supervisory Councillors, as well as Afake Auyo, Ussaini Biyuta Kataudi, and Kande Auyo, who serve as Special Advisers.
The government did not give any reason for the suspension in the official communication.
The ministry directed all the suspended officials to hand over all government property and official duties in their possession to the Director of Administration and General Services of the local council without delay.
It also instructed that the handover process should be carried out immediately and all responsibilities transferred properly to ensure smooth administration within the council.
Jigawa State is located in the northwestern part of the country and oversees several local government areas, including Auyo Local Government Council, where the affected officials were serving.
