Nollywood actor Joseph Momodu has joined the United States Army after completing his military training in Missouri, marking a major change in his career and personal life.
Momodu announced the development through his Instagram page, where he shared that he successfully finished 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
After the programme, he was officially enlisted and given the rank of Specialist in the US Army.
He explained that the journey was demanding and pushed him through both physical and mental pressure.
The training involved long days, short rest periods, harsh weather conditions, exhaustion, and strict discipline, which tested his endurance throughout the period.
According to him, the experience changed him deeply, as he went through intense preparation that broke him down and rebuilt him into a soldier.
He also admitted that there were moments of doubt during the training, but he remained committed to finishing the programme.
Momodu said the decision to join the army also carries personal meaning for him as it connects to his late father’s legacy.
He noted that on April 12, 2026, he took a step that he sees as continuing his father’s path of service, even though in a different country and institution.
He is now officially serving as Specialist J.A. Momodu with the 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.
The actor dedicated the achievement to God, his late father, and his family in Edo State.
He also expressed appreciation to the US Army recruitment team in California and to those who supported him during his training period and managed his public updates while he was in service.
