Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Tems has been announced as one of the performers at the grand opening ceremony of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, where she will share the stage with several internationally renowned artists.
The event will also feature performances from music legends including Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, and Bono.
According to Valerie Jarrett, CEO of The Obama Foundation, the ceremony is designed to reflect a spirit of inspiration, joy, and civic engagement, while highlighting the role of artists and changemakers in shaping society.
She noted that the celebration aims to encourage people worldwide to recognise their ability to drive positive change within their communities.
The grand opening ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 18 in Chicago and will be livestreamed globally, marking a major milestone for the city and the broader cultural and civic landscape.
The Obama Presidential Center is expected to open its campus to visitors beginning June 19, offering access to exhibitions, public programs, and interactive spaces focused on leadership, democracy, and community impact.
The event brings together global leaders, artists, and citizens in a celebration of service, culture, and the legacy of former U.S. President Barack Obama.
