NNPCL CONTROVERSY: Oshiomhole Claims Akpabio Wants Him Out Of The Senate.

Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has claimed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio would remove him from the Senate if he had the opportunity, alleging that the Senate leader sees him as “the devil.”

Oshiomhole made the remarks during an appearance on the Mic On Podcast, where he discussed issues surrounding the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and concerns over its financial management.

His comments come amid an ongoing dispute over allegations relating to trillions of naira reportedly unaccounted for within the state-owned oil company.

Speaking on his relationship with the Senate President, Oshiomhole suggested that Akpabio was unhappy with his outspoken stance on issues concerning the NNPCL.

“If Akpabio has his way, he would probably lock me out of the Senate,” Oshiomhole said.

“He probably forgets that the leadership of any institution, including the Senate, is in the hand of God. I’m probably the devil he knows, and there are many agents he doesn’t know.”

The former Edo State governor has been vocal in his criticism of the NNPCL, particularly during a recent committee session where he reportedly described the corporation as “an institution of thieves.”

His remarks have fueled public debate over accountability and transparency in the management of the nation’s oil sector, as scrutiny continues over claims involving approximately ₦210 trillion allegedly missing from the NNPCL.

Neither Senate President Godswill Akpabio nor the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited had publicly responded to Oshiomhole’s latest comments at the time of filing this report.
