No Bomb Blast In Mushin, Blast Was Mechanical Explosion - Lagos Police.

"News PlatformNG" reports that the Lagos State Police Command has clarified that the explosion recorded in the Mushin area of Lagos on Monday, June 22, was caused by a mechanical fault and not an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack, contrary to earlier speculation.

The clarification was made by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, while addressing journalists on Thursday, June 25. According to the police commissioner, a thorough investigation by security agencies found no evidence linking the incident to any form of terrorist activity or explosive attack.

Fatai disclosed that forensic experts who examined the scene did not detect explosive substances, detonators, initiation mechanisms, explosive residues, or any other materials typically associated with bomb blasts.

He explained that preliminary findings revealed the incident was caused by the sudden release of pressure from a mechanical component located outside the affected vehicle.

According to the police, the pressure impact shattered the front passenger-side glass panels of the vehicle, leaving the occupant with only minor injuries.

Following the conclusion of the investigation, the Lagos State Police Command officially classified the incident as a mechanical explosion. The command also reassured residents that there is no indication of terrorism or any coordinated explosive attack connected to the incident, urging the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information.
