NSCDC Rescues Kidnapped Teenage Girl, Arrests Two Suspects In Edo.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Edo State Command, has rescued a 15-year-old girl who was abducted in Ewohimi, Esan South East Local Government Area of the state, and arrested two suspects in connection with the crime.



According to a statement issued on Monday, June 22, 2026, by the Command’s spokesperson, Efosa Ogbebor, the victim was abducted on June 19, 2026, in Oghu Community after she left home to buy a phone charging cord.

The girl, identified as Miss Glory Odigie, was reported missing by her brother, Mr. Odion Odigie, who said she had gone out the previous day to purchase the item but never returned home.

Shortly after her disappearance, the suspected abductors contacted the family and demanded a ransom of ₦800,000, while warning them not to involve security agencies.

Following investigations, NSCDC operatives tracked and arrested two suspects identified as Freedom Saturday, 16, and Thankgod Oriabor, 21, within the Oghu community in Ewohimi. The victim was also successfully rescued during the operation.

The NSCDC confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
