Oshiomhole Recounts Removal As National Chairman Of APC, Says He Was Removed During Zoom Meeting.

Adams Oshiomhole has spoken about the circumstances surrounding his removal as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, claiming he was effectively sacked during a virtual meeting held via Zoom.Speaking in an interview on AIT interview programs, the Edo North Senator alleged that his removal came shortly after what he described as successful efforts in stabilising the party and supporting President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2015 election victory.

Oshiomhole stated that during his tenure, he and members of the party’s National Working Committee worked to resolve leadership tensions within the National Assembly and provide political support that reduced pressure on the presidency.

“Our president didn’t have to run around the country to talk to people. We did the marketing, explanation, persuasion and all the tools available to manage democracy,” he said.

However, he claimed that once the party structure became stable, he was removed from office in what he described as an unconventional process conducted remotely.

“Once the system got stabilized, I was sacked through a Zoom,” he said, adding that attempts to remove him through internal party mechanisms had previously failed.

He further alleged that efforts to oust him included a disputed vote of no confidence and legal proceedings involving members of his ward. According to him, court rulings and appeals followed in quick succession, eventually leading to his exit after a National Executive Committee meeting he described as being held virtually at the presidential villa.
