A member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, says President Bola Tinubu is deeply worried about the abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State and is doing everything possible to secure their release.
Speaking on Arise Television, Jibrin said the atmosphere at the Presidential Villa is gloomy, with officials focused on the plight of the kidnapped children and their families.
Expressing sympathy for the victims, he said the government is working to address the security situation and ensure the safe return of those abducted.
“I’m just coming back from the Villa and everybody is moody and the matter is all about those kidnapped and their families,” he said.
Jibrin added: “The last person that can be able to sleep that I know very well is the president. The president is doing everything possible to tackle the security situation.”
He assured Nigerians that efforts are ongoing to reunite the kidnapped children with their families as quickly as possible.
