A Northern Islamic cleric has alleged that the recent abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State may have been deliberately orchestrated as part of a broader plot to implicate Northerners, particularly Fulani people.
Speaking in a video shared online by Arena Source, the cleric claimed the incident may have been staged to create a basis for actions against Northerners.
“We are suspecting the kidnapping of schoolchildren in Oyo is orchestrated deliberately because of a larger plan to frame Northerners and justify any type of action taken against Northerners,” he said.
The cleric further stated, “Even before any investigation, they have concluded that it was done by Fulanis.”
According to him, the speed with which blame was allegedly placed on Fulani people raises concerns about ethnic profiling and the possibility of a hidden agenda behind the incident.
